What to do and see in Asolo and surroundings

Historical memories and natural panoramas, medieval views and Palladian villas blend into a single landscape surrounding Asolo.

If you like art and culture, visit the local museum where you will find the remains of the roman Asolo and the section dedicated to the famous actress Eleonora Duse. The medieval Cathedral, contains important works by Lorenzo Lotto (Assunta), Jacopo da Ponte, known as the Bassano, (Assunta) and Sebastiano Bastiani (San Girolamo).

 If you like to go for a walk, don't miss the several path (percorsi natura) along the hills, also by mountain bike. A very nice walk is to reach the Fortress called Rocca,  an imposing medieval construction built on Mount Ricco to guard the city.

Close to Asolo, you can visit two of the most important and extraordinary Villas of the architekt Andrea Palladio:

Don't forget to drive to Bassano del Grappa, a very beautifull town on the river Brenta which can be seen from the well-known bridge "Ponte degli Alpini" (http://www.vivibassano.it), Marostica where, every two years, takes place the game of chess (http://www.marosticascacchi.it) and Castelfranco Veneto, the town of the famous painter Giorgione with the important altar-piece.

Drive to Valdobbiadene, the town of the famous wine Prosecco and take a look to some wine cellar.
